(for all my San Franciscans)
There's this guy in San Francisco that sells creme brulee (how do you do that jalapeno thing on top of the e's?) out of a cart on the streets. He makes it at home but torches the sugar when you buy.
He usually stays in the Mission area and works early evenings on weekends. His exact location and times are updated on Twitter. You have to be added to his secret Twitter account to get updates. Simply ask him via the link below.
Vanilla bean is always there, but once in a while, he adds special flavors to spice up life.
He's not as charismatic as his e-self on Twitter, but the brulee tastes better than it looks in the pictures. You win some, you lose some, eh?
$3 each. Hunting him down and finding the usual small crowd is really fun. The confusing/uncomfortable look of strangers gathering in the middle of nowhere in a street 15 minutes before the guy shows up is worth it alone.
