There are some subtle pleasures in life that are often overlooked, like a new pair of socks or sweatpants or getting seriously enraptured by a new album. The latter (at least for me) comes a lot less frequently than the former. And when it happens, followed by the actual realization of it, life is good.
And when life is good, it's best to share.
La Roux.
Last.fm has them as: La Roux are an English electropop "synth duo" band made up of singer and synth player Elly Jackson and co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid. Elly found a book of baby names in a bin. Within the book was the name "La Roux". 'La Roux' comes from the French for 'red-haired one' ('la rouge') referring to Jackson's distinctive hairstyle. Their music is largely influenced by 1980s pop music including Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Yazoo and Prince.
