Folksy, your typical white-girl-indie-acoustic-guitar-player-singing-the-shits. She sounds and looks like she's got the swag of a southern belle, but she's from Brooklyn like hardcore rapper Jay-Z.
I can't stop listening to her album, Batten the Hatches. I can't explain how she sounds, what's good about it. She has a guitar and she sings. What's more to describe? Great lyrics and melodies like crack: that's what music's all about, right?
Thanks to Kevin for sharing her single on Google Reader that changed the course of my day. Listened to this album 4 times already and it's only midnight. First time I heard it today at 3PM, I spaced out looking out a window for about 25 minutes for the first half of the album.
