I've listened to this song at least 10 times a day for the last week- it's the fuckin' jam of the month. It's the Miss Independent remix on Ne-Yo's album with Jamie Foxx (who gives his best vocal performance) and Fabolous.
Dude, Ne-Yo is the songwriter of the year. Year of the Gentleman is the epitome of the current generation's R&B record. A recurring theme on the album is his attraction to women who can handle her business. Everything she wears, best believe she bought it. First I thought this guy was just hit hard by financial times. Or maybe he's just watching out for the fellas with a Club Card. But really, it's just reiterating that independence is the new black.
