Coco Avant Chanel trailer

I don't know enough about fashion to comment on the costume design (or explain the significance) of this movie.

But judging from the trailer, this looks to be spectacular. The director had to concentrate on the glamor and strife in the life of Coco Chanel but at the same time, pay particular attention to the costumes on every single character on screen at all times. Not an easy task. Trailers as book covers and all, I can still say this is going to be considered heavily for best actress and at least cinematography. Audrey Tatou is looking as beautiful and bold as ever in this standout, call-for-an-Oscar role. If you watch this with me, please remember I will try to watch it with no captions.

Oh yeah, who else but Karl Lagerfeld is supervising the costume design. He's not the costume designer. He's supervising the costume designer. This might be his heftiest task of all time. Good thing he was alive to witness events going back to Coco's birth.
