Battle Studies

John Mayer is an American enigma: no one likes to admit they like him, but he sold more than 3 million copies of Continuum. He's invited to play with Eric Clapton and Nordstrom. He sang a song called Daughters and a song called Vultures. From Inside Wants Out to Continuum and his new upcoming album Battle Studies- college music theory classes will be studying this guy in a few decades for centuries.

Wait, let me correct myself: hardly any person under 35 (higher percentage if you're not white) admits they like Mayer. But he's written for, produced, played, and collaborated with more hip hop artists than most know. His knowledge on histories across all genres is amazing- and he's one of the best guitar players on Earth.

OK, let me take a second here to get off his nuts and just invite you to check out Battle Studies: his personal blog that tracks the production of his new album. See what kind of dirty grime that goes into making a real Top-40 blues album.

It is definitely worth checking out.
