N.A.S.A.

Hey, everyone. All the music I've put on here has been hit or miss with you guys. I've gotten a lot of "thank you's" and "fuck you's" with all the songs I've been sharing on here. And that's OK. Tea isn't for everyone.

Now, I know I can't force you to do anything, especially over a blog- but I sure can highly recommend something. I strongly urge you to get into N.A.S.A. You might have heard quite a bit of buzz about them the last several weeks on the internet but may not have given them a good listen. I've been quietly collected a lot of their leaked tracks and have been completely blown away. You know I get extremely excited (and for short whiles) over catchy songs and post them with at least 3 exclamation marks. But I've only done that once so far with N.A.S.A. I've been hoping they weren't a bust and didn't want to jinx it.

I downloaded two more of their tracks today and I can't hold it back any more.

Who's N.A.S.A.? Well, they're a DJ'ing duo featuring Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon (Sam Spiegel and Ze Gonzales, respectively). Their album, Spirit of Apollo, comes out on Feb. 17th. It will feature guest appearances from their friends. Ready for a namedrop? Ghostface Killah, Scarface, DJ AM, M.I.A., Lykke Li, Tom Waits (uber weirdo, but surprisingly the best part of Coffee and Cigarettes), Chuck D, Cool Kids, RZA, Karen O, Kanye, Santogold, Spank Rock, and... I'm tired now.

How do they sound? Hip hop/electronic beats to a different take on mash-up: mixing vocals from different genres rather than music from different genres (Tom Waits with Method Man, George Clinton with Lykke Li, etc), but they make it work. Very South-American. After all, N.A.S.A. stands for "North America, South America".

GET ALL THEIR LEAKED TRACKS SO FAR. They will be in San Francisco (Mezzanine) on Feb. 28th. Find their blog HERE.
