San Mateo High School's fall musical is Rent! I wonder how these high school kids will interpret a "safe" way of performing A- the cocaine scenes (Light My Candle, Christmas Bells, La Vie Boheme), B- the tranny scene (Today 4 U), and C- death scenes (Contact and Finale), and many, many sex scenes.
I'm not hating on it, though. It IS my favorite musical of all time. I'm not afraid to admit it. I know saying you love Rent is saying Titanic is your favorite movie, and how textbook and tacky it is. Hey! Titanic IS my favorite movie? So what? They had only each other!
Go see it this weekend. It only runs until tomorrow.
