You think you get politics, but you don’t. Politicians are always accused of being “BSers”. That extends further. Everyone in politics, including the reporters, anchors, talk show hosts, and even the audience (me and you)- all BSers. Why? We have no freakin’ clue how it works. And to sound like we do, we use terms and quotes to make others think we know what we’re talking about. Some examples of random quotes I got from Huffington:
“Over at Fox news, punditator Neil Cavuto claimed the current crisis could be put on financial institutions ‘lending to minorities and other risky folks.’ While Neil was making this assertion there was B-roll of Barack Obama playing for no other reason than to make sure the Fox audience knows exactly what minorities and risky people look like. It would have been far more appropriate to run B-roll of John McCain behind Neil's rant rather than Obama.”
“The events of the last few days prove that the era of corporate cronyism and worship of the market is over. We need a new economic model that addresses the real concerns of America's working families.”
And my favorite:
“If Obama just says the Republican proposal won't work, he will be tagged as an elitist friend of Wall Street and McCain will emerge smelling like a populist rose.”
How many social roundtables did you already have about Obama and McCain? How many times did you exchange a “fact” that you got just by overhearing a coworker’s conversations? Tired.
To all those I've offended, here's Palin's swimsuit portion of her beauty pageant she didn't win. Our next VP of the United States...
